Police Officer Positions

Perkasie Police Officers are recruited and hired through a process defined by the Rules and Regulations of the Perkasie Borough Civil Service Commission.  When vacancies occur, positions are advertised.

Candidates are selected from the consortium testing that is sponsored by the Police Chief's Association of Bucks County and the Bucks County Public Safety Training Center.  The testing is conducted several times annually and the consortium represents 21 police departments in Bucks County.  The consortium testing includes a physical agility test and a written examination.

An oral examination and a background investigation will be conducted by the Perkasie Borough Police Department.  Candidates successfully completing the process will be placed upon the Perkasie Borough Civil Service Police Officer Eligibility List.  The list is active for one year.  If offered employment, the candidate must pass a physical and psychological examination.

Requirements for Perkasie Police Officer:

*     21 years of age at the time of application

*     High School graduate or GED

*    U.S. Citizen

*    Valid Driver's License

*     Physical and mental fitness to perform the essential functions of a police officer.
